I'm pretty sure that the alcohol is affecting my mind and want to improve my memory.

I've looked into nootropics but can't afford them at the moment so wondered what else is out there that works.

Can alcohol brain degrading be reversed?

The brain is the only organ in the body that can never replace its cells. Once a brain cell dies that is it, it is gone for ever.
You need to stop drinking before it gets worse.

That's scary eddie. I do need to change my drinking habits as I really value my brain not that it contains a lot but still.

For what it is worth I read recently that it's been discovered brain cells can be encouraged to be replaced. If I find out which science journal I read it I'll return and say.

That said I doubt there is anything on the market that presently helps. If there were I'd have been taking it all my life !

I think the best you can do is regularly exercise your memory, not that I get around to that much.

There is an excellent book on the market which describes the frontiers of brain science. 'The Brain That Changes Itself' by Norman Doidge. Well worth a read especially for acquired brain injury people.

^^ Very interesting article I was always told that brain cells can not be regenerated. Possible hope for the future but it is years away from any actual practical use.

I suggest that you go with what is known to work and cut down on the alcohol.
