Sorry if not a pleasant subject, but I need some advice about OH who is suffering from sickness today. Its unusual, he is never, ever sick.

He hasn't eaten since lunchtime when he had a simple sandwich, but has been sick three of four times since whenever he's had some fluids, and even this evening when I encouraged him to have some water, a small amount made him sick again.

He's feeling Ok in himself, so I'm trying not to be concerned, but I would feel happier if he could hold down some water. Any suggestions or advice?

Doesn't sound a big deal........eat what he likes, small amounts and drink what he likes, small amounts. Fluid replacement isn't a problem at the moment as his vomiting isn't copious and the onset of his problem is only a matter of hours. Monitor the situation and let us have an update.

Well whatever your beliefs about toast, it did the trick! A single slice of toast with a scraping of honey and a glass of boiled water stayed down at breakfast time. Repeated in the middle of the day and still down!

He managed a cup of tea at 5pm and is having a small portion of mashed potatoes and green beans right now. Fingers crossed we're over it now, thanks all.
LOL...thanks for the feedback.
And I am just ridiculous!!! Mother knows best! You're welcome for the advice MAYDUP! Glad he's feeling better.
Could it just be that the bug has worked its way out of the system rather than the toast trick.

No definitely not! Toast cures HIV and Ebola too.
So a lot of money has been wasted on drugs and research?
Will know not to bother in the future...
Well I bow before a lawyer and doctor!!
Most people know dry toast is good for sickness as it's bland. It's the soaking up antibodies that may be 'ridiculous'. Apart from that antibodies are the ones that fight infection, why would you want to soak them up and flush down the loo?
pasta freak

I am glad someone is seeing sense. of course if it can be proven that ebola and HIV actually exist then I would say yes but as there is no proof of either then I would call BS on drugs research!
Are you on drugs?
Prudie, I don't know why I said it soaks up antibodies, I looked at the google page again and it says that wheat and gluten can create antibodies that can fight bacteria. I was trying to be smart but I always try to be smart and for those who have seen my posts on here you will know that I am just a joker who happens to be very bored!
