Im a 23 year old young girl who has suffered with Acne flare ups on my face, chest and back for many years now, i have also got many scars from it. The only thing that ever helps is plenty of sun but im scared to use the sun beds too much. I have heard about this laser treatment called N-Lite, has anyone tried it or do you know of any other treatments that have helped. Im getting married in 4 months and im getting anxious that im not going to look pretty on my wedding day, its really getting me down, any ideas? :(

Well like you said sun beds do help ive been told.
I no sun beds get bad press but if you did everything you shouldn't you might as well not be here.
I go for the sun beds but don't over do it.

I feel old now lol

All the best on your day x
May be a silly question but have you spoken to your GP about it?

My wife used to suffer this and was prescribed anti-biotics, though I can,t remember if it was tablets or cream.
I'm not sure about the treatment you mention, I've never heard of it but I am in the same position as you and I find when I drink a lot of water continualy it helps a lot. I try to drink at least 1.5l a day and the change is noticable after around a week from when I don't drink any. Maybe you do this or have already tried this but it seems to help with mine.

Good luck!
Have you tried Retin-A cream? Ask your doc about it, worked well for my daughter.
If you are on an oral contraceptive, changing to Dianette can help. It worked wonders for me.

Thank you for replying to my question. I have been on the pill for years, i did change quite a few times (i did try Diannette) but unfortuantly it didnt work. I have alos tried Retinol A cream, This also did not work, my skin was so sensitive it left burning on my face. I have been prescribed anti-biotics by the doctor but after some months these had no affect, I stopped them as i didnt want to just pop pills for the sake of it. I try and get as much sun shine as possible but with british weather its never guarnteed. Thank you for your comments i will take all your advice and keep my fingers crossed that something will make a difference

x

I hope I help by saying this - if the sunbed thing helps then maybe you should try and use them so that you get the benefit you want from the least use - if you know what I mean? Ok they may not be healthy but then neither is having your stomache stapled if you are obese. You are not doing it to be vain, it is something that you do to positively effect your life (and health in a lot of ways). There is a negative side to them (just like driving a car or crossing the road) but then you are gaining a positive thing from them. Talk to your GPabout it.
I found that every pill except Dianette gave me acne. It certainly could be related to your contraceptive. Could you try another method (non-hormonal) for a while? In preparation for your wedding I would say use the sunbeds meantime if it helps your skin as I imagine a wedding is stressful enough without worrying about your skin. I wouldnt use them longterm though as they are a risk for skin cancer and definitely cause premature aging. If you have tried a few things from your GP then ask for a Dermatologist referral. It actually really annoys me when acne is treated as something we should just put up with, it can be a chronic skin complaint like any other, and should be treated as such. I have been told since I was 14 that I would grow out of it, that was 13 years ago.
