Can you suddenly develop eczema in your 60's?
I took some Malarone tablets as I was travelling into a malaria area and after 6 tablets started itching all over.
I stopped taking them and went to the doctor and he prescribed anti-histamine. However, my neck and chest is very dry and still very itchy - could this be eczema? Or will it eventually stop after more anti-histamine? Many thanks in advance if you can help me.
I don't know about in your 60s but I have developed it in my 40s! Never had it before in my life then suddenly nearly 3 years ago it appeared. The Doctor didn't realise it was eczema at first, presumably because I've never had it before, but eventually sent off a sample and that was the result! So I would go down to the Docs and let them have a look.
my daughter is 2 and has always sufferd with bad eczema.
did you have eczema as a child? as if you did something might or started it off again,
as my daughter has it i can only wash clothes in non bio. only put clothes on her which are 100% cotten and put special oil in the bath for her. if you get really bad patches ask for hyrdocortisone cream. its unbelieveably strong but it will clear it up. doctors are reluctant to give it as it thins the skin.
if your skin in dry ask for epidurm. its a big tub of grease and its fantastic on dry skin.
hope this helps
