The Home Office is reviewing the laws over the possible prosecution of internet users who �aid, abet, counsel or procure� others to take their own lives. Campaigners want the police to investigate and prosecute those involved in encouraging online suicides.

I don't want to get into too much personal info on here Jayne but suffice it to say I have been to more than 3 inquests.

�Others were talking to him with his old user-name R1 and telling him to stop it. Then all of a sudden it became clear it was not a hoax . . . I watched what happened and felt sick, others were claiming that he was faking it and was still stood on a chair but I knew he was dead.�

Doc how can you even assume that ?
Yes it could have been stopped.Users knew his address and phoned the police.But too late after goading him.
Imagine that was one of your kids?As cocky , cold and callous now?
It could be anyone's child regardless of age we are all someones children aren't we ?

Doc i know you like to be contentious but that was just a stupid and nasty thing to say.

Doc i fail to see any link between suicide and cancer unless its to relieve the pain or because of depression caused by the cancer , i cant think of one .

BOO, when I was a girl I got up one morning and found my baby brother's body dead in his cot.

I know all about people dying before their time.

And I appreciate the value and sanctity of human life.

Which is why I snapped so hard at this hoaxer. He picked an unsuitable subject.

If you hate me for it, I'm sorry.

This person has undoubtedly never held a little, lifeless body in their arms, and then put him back in his cot so that he could carry on sleeping (refusing to accept at that age that he could have died).

We've all had tragedies in our lifes, no one is an authority on it. I guess me and everyone else just have a different slant on this issue than you.

I personally would rather take the post we're on about as face value and look a fool than to openly take the mick out of it.

So what if we're wrong about him? I really hope we are to be honest!

Can anyone remember a few months ago when wizard66 i think said he was gonna commit suicide?For days afterwards there were posts on ab saying has wizard topped himself and making fun ofit.I believe that was in b&s not cb.

I get a mention from lucy thomas and im not even there .And see that doc was but removed.Lucy thomas does like to goad folk to suicide though.

The "I'm going to commit suicide, so come and chat with me" is a thread which crops up from time to time.

Mostly, I leave well alone ... "just in case"

Say what you want but there are certain subjects like suicide , paedophillia , and death of children that are neither subjects for humour , insult , gaining oneupmanship , or making fun of.
They should never be posted in cb at all in my opinion.I for one wopuld be happy if theywere banned subjects from cb and the editor automatically banned them as soon as they were reported.If the subjects are to be discusssed seriously then cb is not the place for such discussions.Though reading about wizard66 on b&s there i wonder if ab is even the correct place ?
