I've had pain in my right arm pit for a few days. I'm pretty sure it's just muscular following the use of crutches over the weekend but how long should I leave it before I get it checked out if the pain doesn't ease?

I would say a week and take painkillers. if you know what's caused it (and it sounds reasonable), then just give it a chance to heal and rest it as much as possible.
Are you still on crutches? Try some Deep Heat and painkillers.
crutches must be awful and your armpits weren't designed for that so most likely you've self diagnosed properly - agree with chinadoll - give it time - although didn't you have a nasty abscess in your leg and were in hospital? sure I remember you did in which case just keep a closer eye on it if that makes sense.

Only used the crutches over the weekend as I knew I would be having to walk alot and had an op on my leg 2 weeks ago so they took the pressure off for the extra walking but not using them now.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I should imagine it would be like using gym equipment heavily, for an entire weekend! Not nice. Plenty of rest and, if it doesn't get better within a week as Chinadoll has suggested, then go and see your GP.

Indeed I did Carmalee, hence the use of the crutches over that weekend but the nurses seem happy with how that is healing (although it's going to take a long time) and after a couple of weeks on cocodamol, I'm trying to wean myself off. :o)
know what you mean milly143 - have just had shoulder op recently and found I was looking forward to the next 'pill popping time' rather too much so have sstopped taking them - best wishes for a speedy recovery
