are you there sqad? i've got naproxen for my shoulder and co-codamol too. I can't find the info page that was in the box.
Will I be able to take indegestion remedies like ranitedine? There's something at the back of my mind that is telling me not to, but I can't remember!

Phone NHS direct, they will be able to tell you or just phone your surgery (even out of hours) and you can ask a GP.

Personally I would have thought yes you can take them but im no way qualified to advise.

thanks ratter, i know i took something years ago and it said don't take them, buit can't remember what they were!
I think it's the anti-inflammatory tablets that might be giving me the indegestion!
http://www.drugs.com/ranitidine.html

I think you will find all the info you need on here, it looks fine to me.
No, I would not mix ranatidine with naproxen.
Another thought, naproxen is dissolved in the stomach for quick action, but ranatidine may block this so that the naproxen is absorbed in the small bowel and hence it's action may be delayed or even nullified.
as far as i know (although clearly i am not sqad) you can take them together, just not at the same time
When my daughter was young she was given ranitidine to stop naproxen upsetting her stomach.
I asked a pharmacist for advice for my shoulder and he recommended naproxen - already on codydramol - as it is meant to be more gentle on your stomach but Dr on holiday so went for something with diclofenac in as was in such pain with it and thank goodness it's working and no ill effects on my tummy so far, on omeprazole so maybe that helps.
I am on Lansoprazole for acid indegestion and my Gp says I cannot mix that with naproxen. I asked for a strong painkiller before I had my back op.
*indigestion*
icemaiden...your GP is correct.
crisgal.. are you taking the naproxen with food? If not you will find that is the reason they may be giving you indigestion. I find if I take them alone or after food, they give me terrible indigestion but if I take them and then eat something, they are fine.
