That's all. Just a very sore throat. Had it since Monday and nothing has come of it.

Can you just have a sore throat? or will some other illness inevitably appear?

Just curious.

Thanks

Sometimes a cold follows immediately after, see your doctors if it persists as it could be tonsilitis.

A sore throat IS a symptom of a disorder.
Will anything follow?.........no idea......wait and see.
I usually get a sore throat which turns into a cold after a few days of it. This week I got a sore throat and by the next day had the full cold. just been out and bought beechams all in one and tissues with balsam, aloe vera and camomile!

Thank you... I guess I should prepare myself.

I had booked myself in for a flu jab tomorrow morning, will it be ok to go ahead with it still?

That's the thing grasscarp, I would have thought I would have a cold by now.
If you feel well, no temperature...then have your flu jab.
Sloe gin is the answer.
Well, not strictly the answer to your specific question... but the answer to a sore throat. So much tastier than Strepsils ;-)
Hi!. salla.........
^ That's why I never have a sore throat.
I hate to say this ice maiden, but I find the longer the interval the worse the cold when it comes! Good luck though as it may not happen at all.

Oh dear. Will order the Sloe gin now then.
Had a sore throat for about 4 days last week, then a horrible cold came. Has knocked me for six, and not well enough to go out at all over weekend which was very boring. Get on the vitamin c and the garlic capsules immediately is my advice (liquid oxygen too if you want to be on the safe side).
Rodge

What's that?
I may have called it the wrong thing, but have a look here:

Obviously there is no proof it helps, but colds are so awful sometimes you are reduced to trying anything.
Rodge......mmmmmmm!...abracadabra medicine.
I got one a couple of weeks ago, not long after going back on immunosuppressants so had to come off them and have blood tests and such. It felt very swollen as well and the doctor said it was red raw. I developed a horrible cold a few days later. It's been rife around work and germs just circulating.

Went back on the tablets Monday then my throat was sore again (argh!) but hit the covonia throat sweets and it's calmed down again, just hoping I've not got the cold germs again!

I know there are lots of bugs going round at the moment jenna and so far I have managed to dodge them. Fingers crossed I don't get one!
Not a medicine but I swear by jakeman's throat and chest sweets. Sucking them is like dibbling a soothing syrup gently down your throat and whilst they wony cure you they certainly won't do you any harm and do alleviate you symptoms - Tesco sells them Take care
Most sore throats are caused by a virus and usually untreatable. If the virus takes hold it can progress further to your lungs. If you have a weak immune system it may lead onto pneumonia. Prevention is better than cure. Soon a vaccine will be available that can tackle all sorts of flu and is said to have life long immunity. Also you can have a pneumococcal jab, currently available from you GP that can prevent certain strains.
