Are there any conceivable dangers involved with eating a sheet of A4 paper throughout the course of a working day?

why on earth would you want to eat paper?

Paper isn't toxic so it wouldn't harm you in that way - otherwise I guess a papercut on your tongue might hurt...

I would also repeat the question 'why would you want to do this?'

Apparently inks are more of a problem than the paper (might contain lead etc) but probably not the best for your body to try to digest...
I'm sure paper IS toxic.... think of all the bleach that must go in to make it so perfectly white!  Mind you, if you smoke, drink or drive a car, these habits are far more likely to harm you.  Notwithstanding the fact that most accidents happen in the home!  So chew on I say!

chicken, probably..

It's not really a question of wanting to eat paper, and more a question of running my mouth off, and then 'having to do it' to prove that I can.
oh the trials of working in an office! Good luck with your dare! Let us know what it tastes like!
You may feel a little flat, flimsy and a bit pale looking.
This sounds familiar to me. As a kid, my sister bet me that I couldn't eat that little blue bag of salt in Salt'N'Shake crisps - when I ate the salt, she said she meant the bag as well. I still won. So, some professional advice, chew properly and take regular exercise. Paper is low in calories and bad cholesterol, but avoid darker colours (try them you'll see!). Seriously though, the only paper I ever eat is my payslip (in case my girlfriend finds it!).

Chillum and Philtaz - how funny??? I once ate a Bonio for a dare. Wouldn't do it again though. Sorry if this is hijacking this thread!!!

If it doesn' t hurt you, I'll eat my hat. Yum.

I have to say I am not a medical doctor, but I would think that eating an A4 sheet of paper is far less dangerous than eating, say, a bicylce or a Cessna light aircraft. The following is an extract from Guinness World Records:

MONSIEUR MANGETOUT
Michael Lotito (b. 1950) of Grenoble, France has eaten metal and glass since 1958. Experts x-rayed his stomach and note his ability to consume 2 lbs (900 g) of metal per day. Since 1966, he has consumed 18 bicycles, 15 shopping carriages, seven television sets, six chandeliers, two beds, a pair of skis, a computer, and a Cessna light aircraft!

At least if you eat paper the end product in the toilet would be neatly wrapped up and think of the benefits no more toilet roll its all self cleaning I would patent this straight away you could make millions
I have eaten paper for years and years - notebooks, my brother's technical drawings, as long as it had the right taste and feel, down it would go.  Only effect was to make me go to the loo - not a bad thing in my case. I don't eat it now - can't find the right flavour but mouth watering at the thought.  Good on ya!!!

As a child I often ate paper... I used to spend ages ripping the paper into shapes of food, ie fish fingers, chips and peas, and once I had done that I would sit and eat the lot!!!!

Sometimes now I will chew bits of paper. I can't say it tastes very nice, a bit flavourless, but I don't think it will actually do you any harm.

I guess its not going to be something that your body can digsest too easily, but you could do much worse to your body I'm sure!!! Enjoy! hehe

when i was a kid, i used to rip bits of my dads newspaper off and eat it(the white bits at the top and bottom with no ink) i don't know why i used to do it but it certainly didn't do me any harm and i've grown out of it now
