lower back pain

think i have sciatica but had it on my left side with all the usual symptoms. now it has went to my right side shooting pains and uncomfortable. any ideas?

it could be you're twisting your back a bit to deal with the pain and this has produced a corresponding pain on the other side? Are you getting treatment for the sciatica?

This is not at all unusual..........right sided sciatica and then left sided symptoms. The usual and common causes of one sided sciatic is disc degeneration or nerve impingement..........same for symptoms in both legs.

Ibuprofen for the pain ...at least 4oomgms up to every 4 hours if necessary and monitor the situation for the next week.

thanks it was left side sciatica, have got pain relief been told go get physio to stop it reoccuring exercises to help
