I had a prolapsed womb for some time which was "cured" by a ring which had to be fitted and changed every few months. It eventually got worse (of course) and I had to go into hospital. You have to stay in for a few days after the operation. I think they will either remove the womb or do a repair. I had a repair and they were absolutely brilliant. They decide what they are going to do when you are being operated on. Tell your mother not to worry - the surgeons are superb. There is no scar as they operate through the vagina or may even do keyhole surgery nowadays, I don't know much about that part as I was unconscious, but the rest was easy for me.
