Any problems with your vision or any redness, sensitivity to light or pain on eye movement?
i think you taking it a bit far to stop the old man tonight in bed lol!
seriously tho hope you get better soon xx
Question Author
No, Ive had this type of headache before, just camt remember what I took to help. The pain is in such a specific area which is prob why it feels so intense.
It sounds like migraine.
Nurofen is bl00dy useless as it contains only 200mgms Ibuprofen. stop the Co-Codamol and take take 3 nurofen tablets (600mgms) and get back to us tomorrow.

Hi Sqad, yes i do suffer from migraines, very very badly as a child but now as an adult probably only once a year. Also always get bad headache when hat time of the month, but not sure why. Will follow the nurofen advice - thankyou.
I'd go for pink migraleave, if you can get to a chemist.
Question Author
Migraleve - had forgotten all about that, think I used to take it years ago
Read recently about 'Brain Freeze'. Try sucking Ice Cubes. This is a serious comment.
I wouldn't bother with the yellow one...your pharmacist can tell you what is in it and sell you a cheaper version, but pink does the trick for me every time. It's better if you take it at the start, but I find it still works after some time.
Actually I find just having it in the house stops migraines...not really a joke this as I'm sure there are psychological factors in migraine.
Hope you feel better very soon as this kind of pain is utterly miserable. :-))

Is starting to ease now, but definitely want a better solution in the house for next time.

Sucking ice cubes?? Brain freeze is painful!
iBrain freeze is painfuli. Thats what the latest theory is based on. Brain Freeze is caused by the sudden constriction of cerebral blood vessels (hence the pain), hence it constricts blood vessels that are invariably dilated in Migraine.
Question Author
Well I will give the ice cubes a try, am curious as to the effect.
pene...correct me if i am wrong but i always thought that "Brain freeze" or ice cream pain was due to the exact opposite to what you have described. I thought that the pain was due to increased blood flow and dilatation of the cerebral vessels, similar to migraine and that is why eating ice cream gave you the same symptoms of migraine rather than relieving it.

I stand to be corrected.
