Sleeping with a snorer

Well, being honest, I lie awake next to a snorer. Can anyone recommend some decent earplugs? I bought some foam type things from Boots that you compress and then stick in your ear before they expand and they were really uncomfortable.

Mostly it works, but occasionally I just get bizarre shouty responses like, 'Can't you see I'm taking the dog out?' We don't have a dog.
As for earplugs, I did use the foam ones for a while, but I developed an allergy to them. Now I use Boots Soft Silicone which you mould into shape like the wax ones, but they stay sticky and remain in your ear. You can reuse them until the stickiness wears off.
