Soles Of Feet Pain
17 Answers
I've had it for 3 years now, and reached the end of my tether today when I couldn't even walk for 2 minutes into Marks and Spencers. The pain is a throbbing, all the time, on the areas of the foot that come into contact with the floor. I have arthritic knees which are now knock-kneed- my feet do not meet when I stand with my knees together. I think my arch collapses when my foot is flat on the floor, but I don't have flat feet. I took folic acid for a few days and it seemed to really help, briefly, but then went back to hurting all the time, despite continuing with the folic acid. I have seen a podiatrist and he's given me insoles- no better. I'm sure it's not plantar as I don't have heel or shooting pain, but a general feeling of foot exhaustion and throbbing. I rarely walk more than a few steps, room to room, so it's not over-use. I'd be so grateful for any ideas!!

But sometimes it's worse than other times. At the moment it's really bad- throbbing all the time. I basically can't walk. My ankles keep giving way too. I may be walking funny cos of the arthritis in my knees. The rheumatologist said she thought I was hypermobile.
You can get seronegative arthritis connected to the IBD though - they were checking if I had crohns due to my gastro symptoms as connected to the arthritis as I didn't have a RF factor originally.
Definitely keep on to get it looked at properly and sorted, last thing youneed with everything else going on. I get really sore feet though my feet bone wise with the arthritis aren't too bad (no deformity or such as yet).
I had plantar fasciitis in the sole of one foot, horrible though quite different to the general soreness. I found changing my footwear helped, making sure it was comfortable and supportive and not getting too much impact from the ground - soft and air cushioned.
I find my feet are worse if they are hot too - I try to keep them nice and cool but always wear comfy bouncy slippers in the house so my feet aren't taking the impact from bare/socked feet.
I found trying to give them a little bit of a treat sometimes helped soften them up. I don't get near them too often but a nice footsoak in the bath and nice moisturiser with socks on.
Best is a proper foot treatment from a trained beautician! I find it hard to keep my keep in the foot bath for long as they get hot and uncomfortable but the hot wax is lovely after and just to have them softened and gently massaged.
I'm hypermobile too and with the dodgy walking with the arthritis it might be worth getting some support. I was loathe to get a stick but I have to say it's been a brilliant help.

Fairly sure it's not Morton's Sqad- looking it up I don't wear narrow shoes - I wear boring flat Clarke's! And always have done. Hotter shoes- sensible ones. Saw the Doc who said he thought it was Plantar, but reading about it it just doesn't seem like that is the problem. :\ Am going to get an isotope bone scan which hopefully should tell me something more. I have a stick jenna, have had for a few years now. Hope you're adjusting to your okay? Thanks!
