Can I join the I'm so tired today I had a tearful moment gang! :)
I had a snivelly bus ride to the hospital after work after something daft set me off, after a day in work from before 7am and the thought of having to get to physio then to the docs for a prescription (abscess :() then get some tea before 6pm cut off for gastro scans tomorrow morning... Feeling a little saner now though.
I had been suffering again lately (see pregabalin post) but in the past I've used having Sky News on very quietly in the background (it gets quite repetitive, unless something big happens) and a fan thing. I ended up having a separate duvet (well, more of a lighter quilt) to my ex as he was a duvet hogger etc... I used to go to bed first though so I would hopefully be asleep when he came to bed to sleep so could turn things off so they didn't disturb him.
I have a very strict bed routine, only use the bedroom for sleeping and getting up etc... no TV (now), no eating or anything like that. I also try to read downstairs so my body knows bed is for sleep.
I have to keep cool, window open, variety of throws/duvet so I can use what I need (or not) without moving, fan (no fella now haha, it also dissudes the cat from faffing about on the bed when I'm trying to sleep - she will usually sneak on and curl up once I'm asleep as fan on a timer so it goes off after an hour), no bath or hot drinks before bed, no caffeine in the evenings, eat my dinner early so not going to bed on a full stomach...
Relaxation techniques don't tend to help me get to sleep but do help me to get relaxed so at least I'm resting more. My Occupational Therapist taught me some good ones.
