if anything. I haven't got rid of these horrible stomach pains, rumblings and cramps at every turn. Saw the doctor last week, and he has given me some antibiotics, but even he admitted they probably won't work. My face is often hot, and body just as bad, hearing still not right either and don't know what to do, or to just finish the course of antibiotics and hope it goes.

So sorry to hear this em, horrible for you, but I wouldn't think stopping the antibiotics is an option.
Can you take other medication?
Question Author
will finish them, but can't understand what it is, worrying is my speciality, but this has definitely got me good and proper.
From a website
Finishing the course of antibiotics prescribed for you is really important. Even if you are feeling better there may still be bacteria present in your body & stopping taking the antibiotics before they are all killed means they have the potential then to rapidly multiply and cause you the same symptoms again. When you are taking an antibiotic there is a race between the effects of the drug and your immune system on the bacteria and the ability of the bacteria to multiply. The longer bacteria survive the more likely they are to become resistant to the drug. If you stop taking antibiotics before they & your immune system have eliminated the bacteria the remaining bacteria will multiply rapidly. This rapid multiplication can result in mistakes in their DNA which can lead to resistant bacteria.

no idea, i have taken some paracetamol before but nothing seems to make it better.
Are you eating ok?
Question Author
what has worried me most is that i had pancreatitis before and this is eerily similar, and i ended up in hospital with that.
Question Author
trying to eat, it goes down, as does water but it doesn't seem to help. Part of me wants to stop eating as often feel rather nauseous. Doctor says its a virus, but i felt like this weeks before Christmas. Last years virus lasted 7 weeks, so to have another is a total downer.
So many unanswered questions...........
What did the Dr say the stomach pains were due?
Any diarrhea.
Has the earache settled?
Can't see the point in continuing the antibiotics.
How much paracetamol are you taking at a a time?
but Sqad, we are told never to stop antibiotics partway though, always finish the course!
I don't think I've ever finished a course of antibiotics.
Question Author
he thought stomach pains are due to virus? and that with the antibiotics will settle everything down, they are doxycycladine. one a day, have taken two so far. I wasn't going to stop them
Had an afternoon when had diarrhoea that was about 4 days ago, that seems to have subsided, but eating is definitely problematic.
earache as such has stopped, however i can hear only muffled sound.
Question Author
i only took two paracetamol three days ago and haven't taken any since.
Question Author
my face is hot as a furnace. And the blasted pains won't go, midriff downwards.
boxy...they are not working and Dr says it is viral....what is the point?

em...it does sound viral or even IBS as an outsider.

Why is eating problematic......you feel sick? you are sick? or you don't feel hungry?
Question Author
since before christmas have felt somewhat nauseous at times, i have been trying to eat regularly, last night had veg and homemade shepherds pie, however sometimes the pain just makes me leave off eating.
Just under the breastbone is the most problematic, lots of burping, and bloated so much so look pregnant, i am not, way too old....
body very hot, and no relief when going to the loo. Doc did urine test said nothing he could see, same for the stool sample, no pylorie??
Question Author
i have been coughing a lot, and sometimes makes me bring up bile and lumps of phlegm, not nice..
Well, 2 things,IBS and gall bladder problems come to mind.
What would i do?
Paracetamol 1000mgs (2*500mgms) every 4 hours (if necessary), drink plenty and monitor the situation over the next 24hours.
Question Author
i had the gall bladder taken out when i was rushed to hospital with pancreatitis, back in 2007, doctor said it would be best as that can be fatal..
emergency doc called the ambulance and told me what he thought it was, he was right.
