Broken Toe?

I have fallen over a picture and the edge of the frame has sliced through the joint at the top of the middle toe. It will stop bleeding...I can bleed for Ireland so that is usual but...the top joint, where the nail is, is wobbling and pointing upwards. I believe hospitals don't bother with breaks like this so if, when it stops bleeding , I tape it straight and tightly will that do, do you think....anyone? :-(

Christ I wish I'd taken a pic of my broken toe at the time- you would have all been heaving by now!
Ran to answer the phone one evening and ran straight into the door frame. First 4 toes went and little toe went upwards - and stayed there!! Went to bed and thought it would be ok in the morning, but the pain was so bad I had to go to A & E. X-ray showed I had broken my metartarsal. had to wear flip-flops for over 6 months as couldnt get any footwear on at all,my toe wtuck upright - and it was winter!. Even now the toe isnt completely down, it is still a fraction higher than the rest. God it hurt!!
