is rubbish.

I have been ill for almost 2wks....no point in going to Dr yet. Haven't left house.

I am sleeping for the world, I am vomming for the world, every part of me hurts, I have a bruise on my hand from banging it off the wall with the pain the other part of vomming brings..not going for the TMI here !

I have only ever had the flu once before. I now recall I thought I was on the way out...

I wonder how elderly/infirm people cope....it must be scary for them :(

Bless anyone who is also sufferring (if it helps) x

Thanks Anne, i've been sleeping all afternoon.
Well I have the flu as far as he can say, scan being booked and bloods have been taken , he's more concerned about my stomach .We'll know tomorrow what infection/bug we're dealing with, he can't treat me until he knows.

I know people are far and away worse off than me, I wouldn't ever purposely take that away from them but I was glad of the chat, advice and support last night ...thank you x
Beds probably the best place for you just now. Take things easy and take care of yourself.
You are welcome, I am sure everyone who has posted will be pleased that you took the plunge and saw the GP. Thank you for letting us know. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh dear this sounds similar to what I had ...was laid up for three weeks...nasty chest cough too ....hope you're better soon xxx

Thank you furry...I forgot to up there ^^ x
Sandy, thank you, bed is where it's happening, not in a good way though ;) x
I really hope you feel better soon. You did the right thing getting help, especially after that length of time. Often things are easier to treat early on. Best wishes xx

Really murray ? Did you have tummy problems as well? If it's 3wks then I only have a week to go, not a thing done for Christmas, haven't left the house, it's pretty awful really isn't it x
Question Author
Meant to say murray, hope you are way better now.

Thanks pixie, sometimes we just have to bite the bullet ! x
KM I was throwing up for Scotland , couldn't keep anything down even water....fine now but was a bit wobbly for a few weeks after it stopped and incredibly tired ! ....all better now , had the flu jab too ! Hope it will be over for you soon ! Xx
Glad the docs are looking into it xx
bed for you it is then, your health is more important than xmas, delegate
Poor you. You are really going through the mill. Hopefully the worst is over and you are now able to get yourself to the surgery.
Oh, I appear to have missed a page of responses. Sorry!
Glad you saw the doc, kylesmum - sometimes you can't NOT do it, you have to look out for yourself! Let us know how it goes - AB is wonderful for things like this, just to have someone to talk to.
So glad you've been seen by the Doc.
Hope you feel a lot better very soon.
:-))
It is good that you were able to see the doctor. I hope you feel better soon.xx
A few years ago my wife and I got flu at the same time. It was horrendous, much as you describe.

After a couple of weeks my wife's cleared up over 2-3 days but mine didn't. Eventually after about three weeks I went to the doc's who was initially sceptical but, on checking me out, told me I was recovering from pneumonia which I'd picked up as a result of the flu.

Since then I've bought a flu jab every year, as soon as they come out. Absolute bargain IMO.

Get well soon, kylesmum ...
I don't suppose now is the time to say to km, you should have seen the doc sooner, poor thing .
