I am posting this as i believe that Fred departed this life and i feel that he should not go unappreciated.
He came onto the AB some two years ago and immediately his posts, based mainly on personal experience, were discussed openly and gave great insight and advice to those that had a problem with alcohol. His knowledge of the law and current affairs were invaluable assets to the threads of Answerbank.
The vast majority of ABers are “ships in the night” and soon forgotten but i felt that Fred deserved more and this post is just to say “ Thank you Fred for your contributions.”
It is extremely likely that a complication of Alcoholism took his life.
He hasn't posted for a few weeks and you assume he is dead? I'd been gone longer and as far as I know I never got an obituary on AB.
How do you know he's not just having a break?
If he has died then R.I.P., however, as we have no proof I think this post is a bit 'dubious'.
Whilst I agree it may seem a huge leap, Fred had announced he was in a terminal state of illness and his enjoyment of the site and then his non posting does make one worry.
Ah I see wolf, I had not read that post, it could be that his health has taken a turn for the worse, however I do feel its still presumptuous to assume he has died
Answerbank is not the centre of the universe. I wouldn't waste time talking to you lot if I only had a short time left on this earth.
Hopefully he is busy spending.

The only question now is: Given that I had enough money to see me through 30 years (97 would be old enough for me; my mother was 93 when she died) shall I set about spending it all in two?
