Talbot, Muslims fast for a month once a year and they only fast during daylight hours so they eat every evening. You body does not enter a true fasting state until you've used up all your glycogen stores and that takes 48 hours for women and 72 hours for men.
To reverse and cure chronic illness a continued fast for a minimum of 20 days is required.

This would happen to be the only vet in a succession of vets who even thought to test my dog for Leishmania, the vet who liaised with experts at Bristol University on the best systemic medication for his condition, the vet who obtained a veterinary import licence to bring his medications into the country and sold it to me so I could email it over to my friend in Spain and get it brought back? Thanks, I'll stick with the one I've got :)
Some scholarly articles for the doubters...the last by a vet

Pata -explain yourself. NOM says her dog was cured by fasting yet in fact the dog has undergone Chemo for his condition -its not me being childish its the OP being untruthful. I find it extremely childsih to suggest all I have to do is starve myself and my chronic debilitating condition will be cured, when the person saying this has had her dog treated with chemo.
NOM did not say her dog was cured...she said there was a reduction in some symptoms...after fasting him briefly for ONE day. She also stated that she had her vets blessing...it was worth a try. No one is talking about starvation. It is you who is exaggerating. Current research suggests that intermittent fasting can reduce inflammation and reduce oxidative stress. So...it *may* help in arthritis cases.
Thanks to everyone for the informative links.
Alfie has by no means achieved a cure but is responding positively since his systemic medication has been stopped and he's being fasted / fed on raw human-grade food. He's certainly happier in himself too.
I really don't know why you or your alter ego are bothering to insult me, retro, it really is water off a ducks back...
