A friend of mine died in America - they had 3 grownup children. Husband married again within one year of her death. A girl who had two children of her own.

If my "old lady" died, I would want a replacement pretty smartish..OR one already primed and lined up e.g a mistress, BUT..not for marriage nor would i want her to live with me.
Women often come with a load of "baggage"...kids, grandchildren etc. HOWEVER, i would take her out for dinner (occasionally) take her for weekends to hotels and maybe a cruise or two.
I return i would ask for my bed to be made, cook me a meal now and again and always look presentable ( as was the deceased) sex would be essential .......but we would live separately.

I can understand why you might feel upset JJ as you probably miss your friend.

As to "too soon", I think that's up to her widower.

Just think about the nice memories of her friend and think how she would have wanted her husband to be happy. Because I am sure that during their lifetime, MOST people would want the people they love the most to be happy after they have died. And after they have died it can only matter to the living.
