First one with canula sedative...uncomfortable but (just about) bearable. Had some polyps removed.
Second one with gas and air. Horrendous. Discontinued half way through because I swearing so much with pain and sweating profusely.
Medic performing it wasn't too sympathetic to my discomfort and made it known to me. Will never have another one.

Well if you are going to have a colonoscopy it is obviously for a medical investigation for some reported problem by the patient.It will provide a negative or positive result. If you can't take the prognosis then don't ask or bother to have the procedure done. I was quite relieved they found a tumour so we could crack on and get it sorted

That's what happened to me, although the doc doing bit was lovely. So I went back for a cat scan which was fine
If I had another one I would definitely hsve sedation
hated the picolax - it's changed now.
Had sedation, not too bad, had the occasional sensation of the tube turning corners.
Couldn't see a thing on the monitor, no, not squeamish, they'd taken me specs.
A number 6 was used and I asked for something smaller.
