Has anyone had the above ?

Do you know what to expect - how aware are you when you have the sedative ?

Re Alba saying that Picolax is no longer. That was vile. What happens now.

I did have one about 12 years ago without sedation and it was uncomfortable and "crampy" in the tummy but if I was to go through it now I would definitely take sedation.

Also don't know why anybody wants to see their a*se on the screen beats me - I don't even look at it in the mirror.
Nellie, I have no idea what the ''number 6'' refered to.
I do remember asking for something smaller which raised a smile.
I think I half-slept through it.

JJ, I don't know if it's from all nhs across the UK, but our lot have replaced the picolax with something else which tastes more pleasant.
I'd have any sedation going, though I'm impressed read to that others went without. You're conscious but very relaxed, which is what I needed to be. If they send you an enema preparation, get in all the soft/moist tissues you can, even if it does feed fatbergs.
Jno Sedation always puts me to sleep! I hsve had it many times in hospitals and dentists and i can never remember a thing!
depends how much you have, I think, NellieMay - I used to need to have it at the dentist's (they don't do it any more), and sometimes it would knock me out - but really I needed to be only half-under so I could open wide on demand; I suppose he had to lever my jaw open if I was asleep. But I certainly don't mind about remembering nothing.

On the other hand, I've had a couple of root canals where the anaesthetic didn't work at all. That was fun.
My sister had it done quite a few years ago now. She didn't know anything about it. The only thing was, when she came around she felt very woozy. Any way Baz, don't worry, I'm sure you'll be in good hands. All the best.
