Well only one actually. Have no idea how it happened, but I landed flat on my face going to my car on Saturday. Possibly toe caught the low kerb in the car park. Managed to get up and nobody saw me, so pride intact. However, covered in mud from head to foot so had to go back in and change. Scraped chin, side of face and hand. Glasses scratched so that may explain the black eye as they must have hit bone below my eye socket which is the only sore bit. Could almost hear my old dad saying "lift your feet".

On the bright side, Maggie, no staircase involved. :-)
Poor Maggie, are you in pain .?
I've done that.

I walked into a door, and my glasses frame clanged against the bottom of my eye socket and gave me a huge shiner for over a fortnight.

I got really really sick of everyone grinning at me when I told them how I got it - it seems the truth chimes with a pointless lie about getting thumped by another woman's husband, but I only found that out after I was truthful, and got laughed at.

Sore if I touch the bottom of my eye socket but that's all. Awaiting the comments about the black eye!
Have you been hanging out with smow by any chance? ;0
Now you have an excuse to wear sunglasses in winter. Hope you heel quickly.
Poor you Maggie and Smow, hope it heals quickly.
Poor Maggie, am sure it does hurt, feel better soon.
To save embarrassment just tell folk that it's your own fault for not listening to your husband the first time ;-)

poor thing hope you feel better soon x
At least you didn't do it in front of people. I managed to fall face first into the concrete at my local Morrisons. It was my own fault as I was too busy looking at my phone to pay attention to where I was walking and I fell over the curb. Several people saw and rushed to help, then the staff from the supermarket made me get in a wheel chair and called an ambulance to come and check me over! It was so embarrassing! I broke my nose and cracked my eye socket but I had a shiner for a few days which my co-workers thought was most amusing...

BagPussAA that sounds like a really nasty one. Nice to hear that there were people around to help you. No broken bones for me just a few scratches and a lovely black eye. Mind you I'm quite well padded which probably helped. Buying new specs is going to be a sore one.
maggie hope you heel soon. xx
