Sorry wasn´t sure where to put this.Has anybody got any views on him?
Just in case one or two of you are wondering who he is. He is a retired policeman detective. He is now a psychic who has worked or is working with the police.
I asked if he was a charlatan because most psychics are, aren´t they?

Who knows, never taken a poll to see what percentage are charlatans.
The only "police" mention on his website is from the City of Philadelphia and the website hasn't been updated since 2007....Lets just say if I looked at an online shop website and it looked like this then I wouldn't buy anything.
I am open to the idea of mediumship because of the experience that a friend had when she went to have Tarot read for fun. The woman said the her as she sat down "I know you are not here for this but I am being told xxxxx" It was an unusual phrase used by someone she had known very well who had died some years previously.
I believe that all psychics are charlatans.

Watch The Mentalist for excellent examples of how they operate.
I do believe some are genuine. A psychic told me a couple of things that no one would ever had known. I'm sure there are a lot of charlatans out there, though..
Patsy I agree, have had the same and so did my mother but you need to keep that to yourself on AB as it will be dismissed abruptly as rubbish.

Folks i need to tell you why i started this thread. I bought his book in a 2nd hand bookshop( bookstore for the yanks) So i thought it'd be a good idea to see what you thought about him. Btw his book is nice+ light. Probably take me less than a week to read its 299 pages.
Patsy/Prudie, me too. No doubt about it. That said, I don't know anything about the man in question but I do believe most are charlatans.
Doris Srokes is your next one
and she must ve read Dom Cummings who rewrote his CV
and that was what she did as well
re wrote it to make it more well predicted

I was fixated by the prog Medium
bearing in mind that there has not been a case solved or even helped by a psychic
(not according to Allison Dubois of course who kinda achieves it every week)
piggynose you want to get hold of T Lobsang Rampa's books....charlatan par excellence.
All so-called "psychics" are charlatans.
^ Yep

Woofy : his real name is Cyril Henry Hoskin.
//All so-called "psychics" are charlatans. //

I would have said the same until I met a man quite out of the blue who told me something absolutely unique about someone else's past.
yup that's the bunny
Some possibly are charlatans, but not all are. I firmly believe this and in agreement with Prudie I won't be divulging on here.
Went to wan he was not very good I’d say he was a medium
Yes Prudie you're right! :-) I understand if people think they they are charlatans, but don't knock it till you've tried it, I say.. :-)

Luck guess.
Google around for people who expose psychics for what they are. Some names are James Randi, Penn & Teller and of course our own Derren Brown. These are all people who are capable of performing the exact same "psychic feats" as "psychics", even better, but are very clear that they're simply tricks.

Why do psychics do it? Usually for money.

Here is one skill that they use, "Cold Reading": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_reading

Here's an example Derren Brown video:

Absolutely impossible, NJ. Seriously.
