Sister had an accident in the kitchen with the fryer. The fryer tipped over and got on her body
I took her to the A&E for burns treatment. The security guards won't let us in unless we have a prebooking.
Is this right, she is in agony now and still waiting in the car. We are thinking of going to another hospital in the next city.

Birmingham USA is near to Coventry USA?
It made me look ummmm, only 16 miles, so quicker than here.
Wow....learn something new everyday.
Jeez, nearly broke under interrogation, thanks for having my back guys.
Oh dear, Good Hope, or No Hooe as it is sometimes called.
There's a Good Hope hospital in Sutton Coldfield...is that the area the OP is in?

We arrived at Coventry & Warwickshire hospital.
(We are in UK not US).
The hospital staff accepted my sister as a patient. She is waiting in the reception area to be called.
She had a few burst blister when she put the car seat belt on.

We don't know the procedure in Birmingham hospital, maybe these are new rules. So I think we should have phone the hospital first then attend.
Very painful.

I hope my sister doesn't get billed by the hospital.
She was billed £500 when the ambulance took her to the hospital following a car accident.
Yes, pasta, Good Hope Sutton Coldfield.
How can you pre-book an accident or emergency? The OP is not valid.
No, that is only for car accidents, and for the ambulance, not treatment. The fee forms part of the insurance claim.
Good Hope is the hospital that my daughter has been waiting for her emergency endoscopy since May because she was coughing up blood. If this post is correct then I don't think much of it but what can we do.
Hope your sister gets help soon.
Question Author
Tilly2, that is exactly. It is nonsense behavior or procedure. Maybe the security guard is a rogue one. I will make further enquiry in the morning.
That is just awful, that someone should be left in agony from burns like that. I don't know what to suggest - but I am sending my sympathy. I hope Your sister can soon get the help she needs. How terrible for all of you.
Oldchestnuts, I think your user name is very apt.
No one gets billed for calling an ambulance in this country, as you know.
Are you Baldric under another disguise?
No heels.
They tried to charge me once after a RTA in 1988, I refused to pay has the accident wasn't my fault ( can't remember how much the bill was now ).
