Do We Have To Have A Prebook Appointment To Go To A&E?

Sister had an accident in the kitchen with the fryer. The fryer tipped over and got on her body
I took her to the A&E for burns treatment. The security guards won't let us in unless we have a prebooking.
Is this right, she is in agony now and still waiting in the car. We are thinking of going to another hospital in the next city.

No you don't, I work on the emergency desk of a dental hospital and take x amount of patients per day for toothache etc, its a walk in service at 8am until all the spaces are filled or 11am, after which we will only see serious cases, large facial swellings, uncontrollable bleeding or trauma to the mouth, no need to book.
