Sister had an accident in the kitchen with the fryer. The fryer tipped over and got on her body
I took her to the A&E for burns treatment. The security guards won't let us in unless we have a prebooking.
Is this right, she is in agony now and still waiting in the car. We are thinking of going to another hospital in the next city.

oh sorry to hear this - hope you get help soon
could you ring 111 right now and perhaps get some advice as to what you can do
did you phone the NHS phone line first (111 - I think)?
Your Sister has hot oil burns on her body and you've been turned away?

Name the Hospital please.

We to Good Hope in Birmingham..
That is nonsense,.go back and insist on seeing a doctor and make it clear that you are quite prepared to take legal action against the hospital.
Why didn't you call an ambulance? In that way, she would probably have got in with no question. It could be serious so don't delay.

We are driving to Coventry city now as I am familiar there.
Id phone the press if I were you, just make sure all facts are as you've told us.

Best wishes to your Sister.
And your MP

Gingejbee, we didn't call the ambulance as we didn't wanted to take away the service from other life threatening patients.
Securty gaurds? Is this real? Soumds like a mis=understanding. If its newly happend go back but ring 111 also and they will say go
This doesn't sound as if we have the whole story and I would hate to suggest that it is a windup.
Just checking, is this Birmingham Alabama?
Never heard anything so ridiculous. Must be naive fools outside with general orders and they don't have the initiative to know when to vary them.
How bad are her burns? Have they blistered?
Doug - they are driving from Brum to Coventry so sounds like the UK.
One of those in Alabama too, ummmm.
No you don't, I work on the emergency desk of a dental hospital and take x amount of patients per day for toothache etc, its a walk in service at 8am until all the spaces are filled or 11am, after which we will only see serious cases, large facial swellings, uncontrollable bleeding or trauma to the mouth, no need to book.
