I don't drink but despite this I still keep being continually gifted with bottles of booze, I have no idea what to do with it, I have re-gifted some of it but still have bottles of the stuff clanking around the house

Why January? I had a dry 1982-2016. Most days still are... is it for charity?

I've done it twice now, it's not all that and you get a powerful thirst about the 28th. :-)

I'll join in.
Not bought any this year.
Have had problems with booze in the past.
It actually makes my breathlessness worse.
So I hope for encouragement throughout the year.
I'm definitely better off without it.

Wolf - Dry tankers? When I sailed with Esso 1972, there were bars for officers and another for crew. Cheap and no limits.
Understandably dangerous, but that's how it was.
