On the NHS website it says from 60 and over however, on the BBC news website it's 50-59 end Feb - mid Apr.

I now qualify for the 50-59 bracket but can't book through NHS website unless I'm a key worker or carer etc. Back on school runs from Monday so risk is slightly higher for me as an 'older' parent.

my GP group (local surgeries have banded together) has asked via its website for healthy old farts to take up the national invitation (get letter, book online) so that they can focus on the frail and at risk group of all ages.
Scroll down on this link and put your post code in, might give you some idea.

tigger is option for covid jab still available to you? If so I would have it, even though you are working from home, you still have school run to do and shopping.

I tried the link with postcode and it didn't give much of an idea.

I then used the drop down options and it said between 7-20 April.
I had a letter from NHS inviting me to book an appointment.
Tiggs, if you are already eligible, you can just book it online.

Think I'll try the key worker route online.
Looking at letter again you can probably book online @

www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination

You just need your NHS number.

Just booked an appointment next Friday at my local pharmacy :o)

2nd appointment is on 28th May.
One doke tigger, sorted then, i had AstraZeneca vaccine, was a bit sleepy the next day, but no other side affects, apart from a sore shoulder, but similar after flu jab.
At the moment no one under 60 can book an appointment.

I had my flu jab in Dec. No side effects other than sore arm. Hope it's the same with whatever I'm having next Friday.
good luck tiggs.
Forget my last bit of advice. I just ignored that I’m under 60 and cracked on with the application. 1st jab next Friday!
i had mine early too.. got message on thursday 4th feb, vaccination on 6th feb. i am 66..
tigger as I said was a bit sleepy the next day.
I had no side effects at all, forgot about it until I rolled onto my vaccinated arm in the night, and it was a bit sore. That was the Pfizer.
You absolutely do not have to wait until your surgery contacts you. They have enough on their plates with the vulnerable. Best book through the NHS booking site. At the moment that is showing for 60 or over.
Just rang our local GP, to see if Jen can get jabbed when she comes home. Originally when I asked for myself they said no they where not in the program, but they appear to be now doing them, not surprised at £12.50 a pop.
