Over the past few months little Tigs has been having a hard time trying to get to sleep. Once I've got him to bed he often lays awake till 11 or 12 before falling asleep. Today, he fell asleep during a lesson and got detention.

I've contacted my GP and they are referring him to a child psychologist due to the problems at school which are impacting on his mental health, but in the meantime what can I do to help him with sleep?

He could have become poorly on the day in question, Zebu.
He was poorly a few days before, Tiggs, and thus I attributed his tiredness to that episode.

Lots of nit-pickers on here today ;)
// I said he "had" been poorly, not he was poorly. //

Gulp! (blushing now... scampers off with tail between legs).

Yep, sometimes recovery takes time even if you look and feel better.
Have a look for a home schooling co-op in your area. A colleague of mine home schools but through a co-op so the children still get to socialise and you have some support in schooling too.

Home schooling will be a last resort but will bear this in mind, Chelle.

Thanks all, appreciate the help and support on here x
