I would be surprised if they didn't offer you another appointment. They kind of expect people to miss those appointments, or at least they did in my area.
"I'm prepared to pay"
By missing two appointments you have shown no inclination to stop.
Paying won't making any difference if you don't really have the will to give up drinking.
Did you cancel or just no show ?
If you cancelled then they might well give you another appointment.
If you just didn't turn up then you might have to do a bit of persuading/promising.
Did you get this appointment through your GP ? If not, give the GP a try.
Good luck Sandy. You sound as though you are trying to help yourself and that really counts .
Sandy, there was an item on BBC N.I news this evening about a talented sportsman who had been addicted to drugs and alcohol. He got great help in Cuan Mhuire and is now recovering. I myself know someone who has gone there and has turned his life around. Please give it a try, just pick up the phone and speak to someone, you'll not regret it.
Choux, it's very flaky - you can't use it more than once per post, and if the italic bit contains punctuation that usually crashes it too. Ab Techies need to sort it out.
Your in a maelstrom of your own creation. You whine that you need to stop, but have no such intention. Soft words and sympathy achieve nothing except feed your self loathing and pity. You’ve got to man up, deprive yourself of your self torture and stop beating yourself with the bottle. You can beat this demon.
I don't know, sandy- I hope they would give you a chance if you can get to properly speak to them. In any case, it is worth a go- and very best wishes xx
