Hearing Loss

Does anyone know anything about the government scheme that compensates people who've suffered hearing loss as a result of their occupation?
Is it just a case of going to see a solicitor or is there a special contact number? Thanks.

Are you still employed by the same employer whose employment you think may have caused the problem? If they were a good company and you were working in a noisy environment they should have been conducting regular hearing tests. Were ear defenders offered to employees and did you wear them? Check with a solicitor first obviously, but did the company have an Occupational Health professional working for them (nurse or doctor) and were medical records kept for employees? You may need to have all this information before making any compensation claim.
