Am I the only one fed up with these girls?

I thought it was illegal to have sex under 16, yet a 14-year old can get pregnant and be thrown money from the state, and while they're at it - throw in a little house too so they can bring their child up to be as lovely as they are. Don't worry love, we don't expect you to earn a penny from now on, we will hand you all the benefits you need.

Do they do it as an easy way out of getting a job and so they won't have to get a mortgage to buy a house? or is it just a fashion accessory these days?

I am pretty sure that 99% of these pregnancies are not 'accidents' - it is exactly what the immature little minds want.

well said frankiebabe.
So it's only these teenage mothers who sponge off the state? What about all these bloody morons in their 20s and 30s with 4, 5, 6 kids? I think you'll find that your statistics are grossly over exaggerated. And as for your comment about making a daughter of yours get an abortion you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Your post is about not supporting kids you bring into this world...it's about emotional as well as financial support!
You don't have any daughters? Do you have any sons? If not, that does explain a lot.....

In my experience as a parent, it is the people who aren't who seem to know everything and have the best 'parental advice'.

I have 4 daughters, and I want good things for them. That includes helping them to deal with the decisions that they have made in a responsible and mature way. To realise that we can't undo the decisions we make. 'Making' someone has an abortion, doesn't stop them from being a teenage parent, it just covers it up, hides it and makes them become a person who has lost a baby.

My daughter, whom I had when I was 18, was not a mistake. She was a baby. I resent the implication, and your attitude.

daily mail reader? I don't thinkso, try the Sun, they enjoy witch hunts too.

Oh so it's just these teen mums that get pregnant, get a council house and live on benefits is it?? And surely theres no women in there 20/30/40's who get pregnant by accident?! And surely its all the teen mums who are the single parents.

Jelly-baby you extremely narrow minded, and your post just shows everyone how much you DON'T know.

I am a member of a website called Babyworld.co.uk, and there is a chat room dedicated to teenage and young parents. I think you'll find if you talk to most of them, they or their partners have jobs, a house (council or not it doesn't matter) and they're bloody good parents.

You are a complete and utter ****.

Have you gone? Are you not going to come back are reply to our messages and justify yourself?

I think she's another one of these "wind up " postings. Seems to be a lot of them recently, all vile, all ill-informed and all a no show at the end of the day once they've got everyone's hackles up.
o doubt she is even a parent just some saddo wanting to pee everyone off

Don't really understand why you are all so annoyed with this post. People are entitled to their views and their are a lot of young girls who do get pregnant on purpose when they are not in a stable relationship and cannot support themselves financially let alone a baby so the state end up paying for them. If you are not one of these girls, why are you so bothered what someone else thinks. It seems you are all very defensive and that usually means you are feeling guilty about something.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with jelly-baby but I don't know why most of you even bothered to reply if you are that annoyed with what someone else has posted.

I am 20, I was pregnant at 16 and then had my baby 1 month after turning 17 I coped just fine thank you and I live in my own house and work full time and I am still together with my daughters father we have been together 5 years now and we are getting married next year, so having heard all that how can you possibly tell me that 99% of us are scrubbers (because lets face it thats basically what your trying to say!!!) 2 of us have already told you that we dont have own house paid for by the government so "your" statistics are incorrect obviously!!!

I think its really pathetic that you don't have anything better to do with your time than belittle other people, you are entitled to your own opinion but I certainly do not respect it. I arent saying that I am proud of being a young mum but I am proud of myself for how we have raised her and that I can come on sites like these and stand up to low lifes like yourself and I can say 100% (not just 99%!!!!) that I am a good, hard working, tax paying, house owning mum

Oh and for those of you from babyworld its me hayley aka chelseasmadmummy hope you like my reply
rachela500 I don't think we are irritated by jelly-baby's comments because we all have secret guilty consciences that are in danger of being exposed; I think it is more likely because what the poster has written is offensive, inaccurate and unfair. Even your statement "there are lots of girls" lots meaning how many? How many as a percentage of what? From where did you lift your stats? How do you know? Do you work for the government minister's board of secret national data? Does your quantity "lots" take it as a percentage of all teenage mums who are on benefits, or all mums or all parents who are on benefits? Or is it a percentage of all people in council housing? IS it sensitive to demographic or geographic.

Obviously, a sweeping statement picked up by the media posting of about 5-6 years ago talking about the calculating girls who only want a council house. It was sensationalism then and it is so now.

I will say this about young mums though: Maybe the reason we continue to see mums who are under 25 today and the number rising as it has done throughout the annuls of time, is because that is the natural age for child bearing. Typically, girls married at 15 (which I'm not saying is what we should still do of course) and had their families complete before 30 as a natural physiology. Fortunately, medical science has made it possible for us to maintain our health and have our children much later if desired, but is the desire to have a child when one is only just 20 really unnatural and strange? No.
blah blah blah

yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry but i think everyone is bored with this now. even the now infamous jelly-baby seems to have moved on - maybe everyone else should too!

This is incredibly interesting to me the response to your question (Jelly-baby) vs. the response to Laurence2 regarding his 18 yr old relative that is in the middle of having her second child, but the unborn infant is severely disabled. Scroll through both to compare responses. Everyone is so quick to be against abortion in Jelly-babys question, but then with Laurences question people tend to understand why the parents would chose to terminate it. It's interesting to me, and I would like to hear what other people think.

I'm not sure that it is the choice to terminate that people are against here (although it is not my choice and never would be barr my own life being in danger and thus leaving my children motherless), I think it is the implication from jellybaby that she would force her daughter to have an abortion. The idea of having an abortion forced upon you is abhorrent in all cases. Also, I don't think that anyone in laurences question was saying that having a termination would be a breeze, end of problem, I think they were understanding it as the lesser of two horrific situations and one in which included the protection of another 9month old child.

I could be wrong, but that was my understanding
hey hayley. (wavin to my bw girls)

i dont agree with abortion at all would never stop someone from havin one if thats what they wanted and i would never force anyone to do something they didnt want as jelly-bean said she would.
Thanks Mimififi for the comment.
Andy-Hughes - yet again a comment spoken with true sense.

Frankiebabe - fantastic comment also - why can't "these boys" taking some responsibility and try carrying a pack of condoms? "These girls" don't get pregnant on their own.

Jelly-Baby - I am appalled at your narrow-minded attitude and your comment "I would make her have an abortion". Perhaps we should be thankful that you don't have a daughter. You clearly don't have a clue about parenting.
Rachela500 - "People are entitled to their views" - indeed - exactly why we all bothered to reply to this thread.

Obviously I would never make someone have an abortion - and I don't see how anyone could physically do that anyway. What I meant to say was that if my 14-year old was pregnant, it would certainly be an option that I would encourage her to choose. (I'm sure I'll get loads more slagging off now).

I think you should all give up on this now. Most of the replies are from teenage-mums anyway so all your posts are one-sided. You can't really complain about something you've done yourself can you.

Glad to see there are so many hard-working people out there. I hope you bring your children up with your attitude.

In response to the person who asked where I had gone, I do actually work full time so do not spend most of the day on my computer as some of you seem to!!!!
