Teenage/underage pregnancy
Am I the only one fed up with these girls?
I thought it was illegal to have sex under 16, yet a 14-year old can get pregnant and be thrown money from the state, and while they're at it - throw in a little house too so they can bring their child up to be as lovely as they are. Don't worry love, we don't expect you to earn a penny from now on, we will hand you all the benefits you need.
Do they do it as an easy way out of getting a job and so they won't have to get a mortgage to buy a house? or is it just a fashion accessory these days?
I am pretty sure that 99% of these pregnancies are not 'accidents' - it is exactly what the immature little minds want.

We are not one sided we do see that soem of the teen parents do make it even easier for people like you to only see the neg side but not 99% id say a lot less then that to be honest.
as ive said before all the teen parants i know are great and trying to make their lives better for there baby.
How could you be so narrow minded all people do is look at the bad side of it all never the other side.... There are young girls who it was an accident to, but I don't want money from the government or a council house all I want is for my daughter to grow up in stable loving environment.
I come from a wealthy working class family and still live at home with my parents and my daughter she goes to nursery in the day as well as having my mother look after whilst I work everyday to earn a living not scrounge pennies from the taxes. I pay taxes just like everyone else and I get treated the same as a 40 year old mother im no special case or charity. When I want a house I will save and pay for it not rely on the government to give me one and I will carry on working for as long as I can.
I think maybe you should look at things differently and not just what you read in papers its not always like that maybe you should think before you start making accusations towards others because it can offend people.
funny how none of the examples we have here
fall in the so-called "99%" category that jelly-baby talked about.
Where that figure ever came from is still a mistery.
Apparently jelly-baby is very concerned with money and housing benefits, and thinks everybody else is... but that doesn't seem to be the case... especially for teenagers...
But maybe all the examples here are liars? ( you know, they smoke, they swear, so they are evil, so they are probably lying too ... )
I don't know much about teenage pregnancy, but I'd rather believe one-sided testimonies of people who know what they are talking about
rather than believe the fictive figures made up by someone who doesn't know.
space- "none of the examples here" - What do you expect? Someone to actually admit they are a scrounger? I don't think so, obviously they are not going to respond.
cocobo - If you get so easily offended by a stranger's comments - don't read them! or are you not confident enough to ignore them?
kitty&ewan (do you both type together?) I said it to get a reaction and it certainly worked - never seen so many angry kids (who think they have the world's knowledge now they have a baby).
I think mdoo98 has summed this up perfectly!
Thanks for everyones replies. I am now going to start a new thread so keep watching!!!!
Jelly baby If you feel so strong about this subject then get involved and do something about it.. I felt very strong about the young prostitution in my city so I got a Government grant and put together a team and started educating teens on how to stay safe from being groomed into being a prostitute..
I hope you use your energy to help solve this problem

Jelly-baby - I've let it go over my head i don't care what other people like you think just as long as i know the truth and you can moan about this all you like but your not going to change anything - and maybe your right about once these youngs girls have got into there heads they want and baby, but its not always the case and you should maybe try and understand that.
Yes I agree that if a young girl and boy believe that having a baby is how there problems will be solved...then that is not a good idea.. But who is putting this into the childrens heads? tv, parents? That is why it is so, so, so important to educate these young people and let them know that they are worth much more than that... And you would have to start with the age of 10-12 and up.. Get into schools and stuff.. I could have sat back and said oh well about teens with prostitution and drugs.. but I didnt.. and Im proud to say I made a differnce.. And you and everybody else can feel free to do the same..
Have a great day Jelly baby
I'm 17. I'm thankfully not, and never have been pregnant. This isn't me gloating, this is just so people have a more informed idea of my opinion.
I don't think the education in schools about safe sex is brilliant. I happen to be very lucky and have a close relationship with my mum. I consider myself to have a mature attitude towards sex and protecting myself. Where I can see some girls at my school who might be tempted to get pregnant out of desperation, this is more to do with background than anything else. And I'm not talking about whether you grew up in a council flat or suburbia, I'm talking about love and communication in families. It shouldn't be the job of schools to ensure kids don't have babies too young.
