I flirt playfully with most of the girls at work, and they flirt back. We don't fancy each other, and we're all mates, but I think it's naturally part of the male/female dynamic. It's all just fun and I wouldn't have a problem if my girlfriend (not that I currently have one) was doing it.
Obviously there are boundaries, and I wouldn't be saying things that were explicit or could cause someone to feel uncomfortable, but you judge these things on how well you know people. E.G.
I mentioned to a girl today a film that we were supposed to be seeing at the cinema, and when we were supposed to be going. She responded by saying (just in earshot of enough people), "Is this just a rouse so that you can try the old yawn and put your arm around me trick?". Flirty, funny, but as much designed to to embarass me as much as anything else, ans there are countless instances of this sort of thing all day.
I say - flirt away!
