It would appear I have mumps, have to get a blood test to confirm but the doctor thinks thats what it is. I'm in quite a lot of discomfort and was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to make myself more comfortable. Any particular things make you feel better if you've had it? Hot or cold drinks, foods etc. I'll take anything I can get right now!
awwwwwww, Morrisonker..... thats awful, you poor love... you must drink lots of fluids.... very important... take paracetamol to keep your temperature down. You can also take ibuprofen with paracetamol.
Poor you ..I do sympathise .I had mumps last year at the age of 50 much plus !! Very painful .. The doctor gave me diflofenac and co-codamol.Drink lots of water. I don't think you will feel like eating much! I found an ice pack on the swelling helped.Or keep a bowl of iced water nearby and keep wringing a flannel out and put that on the swelling.
I have to warn you it gets to a pitch and is bl**dy unbearable. It left me with a numb ear for ages.Any childhood disease as an adult is awful.
I do hope you soon feel better.Take it easy.
thanks guys, I've been finding ice is helping a lot. I'm a girl but found it rather amusing so many people are telling me about the male aspect of mumps, the doctor said I should let my boyfriend know I have it but the ******* dumped me on monday. I hope he does end up in some pain >_<
Isnt that funny that so many people assumed u were a man!! (including me!) Guess its coz u havent picked a girlie name.Anyway hopefully the ex will develop piles or something!
sorry, M I'mnot laughing at you for one minute - you must be feeling really grim....chin up, oooh, sorry again, you'll soon be well again. lol at the piles kazzianne
