For my 3 year anniversary with my BF, he bought me a $550. princess cut blue topez pendent, that was quite large, with white gold and small diamonds. I had it for 2 1/2 years after that, I wore it often, not just for special occassions. I believe when you have something that is extra nice "have fun with it!!". Well, one evening the chain broke, the pendent fell off and I didn't notice it untill it was too late. Im thankful that I wore it often and got good use out of it while I had it :(
