Just wondering....

I have heard this rumour that if you sleep with someone who has Chlamydia, you will DEFINITELY get it...

Is this true?

noo........ i have already slept with them. just found out they have got chlamydia. do u definitely get it when u sleep with sum1 who already has the disease?

The answer to this and yours is not always, but the risk is there. No condition is a "guarenteed catch"

I would go to your GP or STD clinic as soon as though, to check you out.

No, not at all, if you sleep with someone without using a condom and the person has it then you will probably get it, if you sleep with a person and use a condom you will have peace of mind as well as good health.

you can buy tests for chlamydia in pharmacys if you're too embarrassed to go to a clinic. It's a simple test, just urine sample needed and you're so much better safe than sorry.

Chlamidyia is one of the most treatable STIs. Go to your doctor and say "my partner has tested positively for chlamidyia and I need the antibiotic for it." They probably wont even want to test you, just write out a line for the drug. It's a short antibiotic course and that will clear it up. Doesn't do you any harm if you don't have the infection, so you might as well to be on the safe side.

it could stop you having babies in the future if you dont get treatment for it (thats if you have it) - go get it checked.

Also, did this person tell you about it before you slept with them? If they told you after having sex, they are seriously F*** up!

go to your gp straight away and get tested for it because if you dont you will suffer the rest of your life.i got it from someone and did not realise till it was to late,i started bleeding during and after intercourse ,bad pains in my tummy,bloating,i went to my gp and got addmited to hospital straight away and put on drips and intrervenas antibiotics,i was told i developed PID pelvic inflametery deaese due to haveing chlamidia,it as left me scared so bad in side that my chances of getting pregnant are slim.PID is a nasty and painfull thing to have and there is no long term cure,i get it aboutt 5 times a year and hevery time get addmited so please dont delay in going to your gp if you have chlamydia it can be cleared with antibiotics,dont leave it to develope into PID.i dont want to scare you but these are the facts and its my story.i would hate for anyone to go through what i do so please please check it out.good luckand dont wait any longer.
