Anyway stylism - I used to suffer terribly too, so do understand how you're feeling.
Apart from the helpful advice on here, you could contact the pharmacist at your local chemist, I'm sure they'll be able to recommend a good remedy.
Hope you feel better soon. -x-
oooh i forgot that TENS machines can also help with period pain. They are used to relieve labour pain by small electric pulses into base of back. This in turn causes the release of endorphins.
You can buy them for about 40 or 50 but it is possible to hire them (for childbirth) from boots and other chemists.
sam, my heart goes out to you....used to suffer agony every month, painkillers, hottie bottle as already mentioned....you have my sympathy.....
As for You, russian, you can't even begin to know what pain some women suffer each month..if you did you wouldn't comment that you think of something else, and put up with it...believe me, you cannot think of anything else but the PAIN!!!! talking of which, Take a Hike!!
Belive it or not excerise is good , although ..not somthing I would do when im in torture .
my heart goes out to you today ...it will soon pass though sweetie .
tonight after work have a long soak in a nice warm bath with loads of bubbles and a glass or 2 of your fave tipple afterwards.
this will sound daft, but once i was out with some friends and we came across a temporary fairground - i didn't want to go on anything as i was in pain with my periodicals, but eventually i went on one of the rides - a real twisty one, and when i came off my pain had gone and my belly felt fine for the rest of the day.
i don't know how or why but it really works - i have done a few times since and its worked everytime - i know its the last thing you feel like doing but try it!
it also cheers you up - well you are at the fair aren't you!
if its not possible to get to a local fair (we have one quite near in southport) you could try running or jumping or trampolining on your bed or something.
