have no miracle cures sorry hunny but i have lots of sympathy as i'm in the same position today xXx
me too today! no miracle cures but i always find a hot water bottle on the belly helps ease the pain a little. hope you start feeling better soon x
I always had very bad pains.I used to have to stay off from University because they were so bad.I found hot water bottles did not help and I just put up with it.People have bigger things to complain about.
which university do you go to again?
Sam - sorry you're feeling poorly.I get exactly the same and it is a lousy feeling.Don't know of much apart from hot water bottle, painkillers but Im sending you a big hug.x

awww thanks guys it doesnt help im sitting at work. :o(

Sexyrussian - yes people do have bigger things to complain about, but when you're in agony with period pains & asking for advice, you don't want to hear that!

Anyway stylism - I used to suffer terribly too, so do understand how you're feeling.

Apart from the helpful advice on here, you could contact the pharmacist at your local chemist, I'm sure they'll be able to recommend a good remedy.

Hope you feel better soon. -x-

not a cure but i've got a yummy bar of green n blacks choocy you can have x
lol mccfluff, I've already sent her a twix by first class plane!!!!! (via msn!!!)

yes thanks loobie for that choccy delicous, but im quite happy to exept more chos mccfluff please!!.and sexyrussian you dont phase me anymore/!
I dodn't mean to be nasty.I just meant when I am in pain I try to think that there are more inportant things going on.

Boots (and prob other chemists too) stock heat patches that you can stick on to your stomach/back, and they warm up and provide comforting heat for about 6 hours. Not quite a hot water bottle, but they certainley help when your at work. I swear by the lil-lets ones.

I alwasy find that chocolate and caffeine are to be avoided when i have period pains. They make them worse. Heat patches and hot water bottles help.

oooh i forgot that TENS machines can also help with period pain. They are used to relieve labour pain by small electric pulses into base of back. This in turn causes the release of endorphins.

You can buy them for about 40 or 50 but it is possible to hire them (for childbirth) from boots and other chemists.

sam, my heart goes out to you....used to suffer agony every month, painkillers, hottie bottle as already mentioned....you have my sympathy.....

As for You, russian, you can't even begin to know what pain some women suffer each month..if you did you wouldn't comment that you think of something else, and put up with it...believe me, you cannot think of anything else but the PAIN!!!! talking of which, Take a Hike!!

Nurofen works wonders for me ~ I suffer quite badly and always have..since nurofen came along it has been much better. It's still there, but nowhere near as bad!

Wrap yourself up in a duvet with a hot water bottle too, sweetie :o)

I get midoil sent over from the US from my mother in law .That works ,, its no help to you today though sorry to say.
Belive it or not excerise is good , although ..not somthing I would do when im in torture .
my heart goes out to you today ...it will soon pass though sweetie .
tonight after work have a long soak in a nice warm bath with loads of bubbles and a glass or 2 of your fave tipple afterwards.
hi stylinsam, i really know how you feel, every month i dread it,im very heavy and have very bad pains, pain killers ease it for abit then they wear off, what i do is get in a hot bath as hot as you can stand it and lie down if its big enough and it works great, also i have herbal tea that helps too and stay off coffee.just try it and see.

this will sound daft, but once i was out with some friends and we came across a temporary fairground - i didn't want to go on anything as i was in pain with my periodicals, but eventually i went on one of the rides - a real twisty one, and when i came off my pain had gone and my belly felt fine for the rest of the day.

i don't know how or why but it really works - i have done a few times since and its worked everytime - i know its the last thing you feel like doing but try it!

it also cheers you up - well you are at the fair aren't you!

if its not possible to get to a local fair (we have one quite near in southport) you could try running or jumping or trampolining on your bed or something.
