Yes im watching footie later - cant wait.b/f cant get home in time bless him!!

Tomorrow I have to drive all the way to Essex to drop my son at his grandparents as they are having him for a week - I hate long drives!!

Yes my friends baby is beautiful, and I think it has already had the heart tests as Downs babies are prone to heart problems, but her's has been given the all clear.

That's excellent news ~ by all accounts she should have a long, happy life with lots of quality!

Life expectancy for Downs kiddies has lengthened considerably in the last 30 years or so..due to more knowledge, better medical care & lots of love :o)

Well I shall ache on Sunday, girlygirl! but it is worth it..a fantastic work out and having fun at the same time.

Is it a work out????

Why do you always ache the next day or on the evening?

Do you feel really small when you get of the horse?

Or is this just my strange ways???? xxx

Pippa, do you have your own horse????
My weekend looks quite dull. my b/f is on call for firestation so we cant be more than 5 minutes from the station 24/7. On sunday though its his very first fathers day and yet he has to go and do a huge drill at a local airport. It will be all day and its one of those plane on fire simulations. So when he finally gets home sunday night he will be exhausted.

The stuff I do is a work out..I do quite a bit of jumping, but even if I am just trotting or cantering I have to make sure I breathe correctly so I suppose it's cardio vascular!

I also use muscles I never knew I had..it tones the abdomen as you have to sit straight with shoulders back (unless you are jumping, then you have to 'fold' right at the moment!) I guess as you are using leg muscles it makes them ache the next day..just like I did when I used to do step classes.

Luckily the horses I use aren't that big..around 14/15h but that's big enough for me as I am only 5'2" :o) but it does seem a long way down ~ especially when you fall off!

Hi loobie ~ no, not as yet..I neither have the time or funds to own my own at the moment, although i am looking into a loan arrangement.

Hopefully one day I will own but it takes a lot of commitment, time & money. Right now I am enjoying riding, being around the horses & helping out where I can :o)

Totally agree!! I've always wanted a horse but know they cost a fortune and take up so much time. mind you i don't actually ride!! was looking into it recently but it's so expensive!!!

the sun has got his hat on! Hip hip hip hooray!!
Question Author
redcrx - my daughterss b/f is a fireman - lolol

Yay! the sun is indeed out and about :o)

loobie ~ you really should give it a go..even if you only have a lesson once a month or so. I know it is pricey ~ I have to pay for me & two daughters..thank goodness Mr Pippa isn't interested ;o)

my b/f is a retained fireman. he is on call 24/7. Has same duties as a full timer but without the time off lol. he still has a full time job too, i wonder how he manages it sometimes.

Oooooh..Firemen......ooooohhh! *slurp*
Yeah Pippa I might have a think about it. I used to go when i was a teenager but my horse was ill one day and they put me on a pony!!! It got scared, tried to buck me off and that scared me for years - i never went back. Think at 23 though i would hopefully have more control over it and myself!!!
Question Author
yep,the daughters b/f is also a retained firefighter!!

You know what they say loobie ~ you aren't a rider until you have fallen off at least 7 times!

Know what you mean though..I get spooked every now & then. Horses are just like us, they have good & bad days..and mares have hormones to deal with too. A mare with pmt is one to be avoided, LOL.

Stop talking about me!!!! lol
Mmmm I just went upstairs to the office above me and had a luscious Krispy Kreme doughnut!!! The girl who bought them is getting married and it was a treat from her for her office but I got included cos she likes me!!!! It was yummy!!!!
