everybody I see lately is pregnant.Mind you,my friend gave birth to her 4th baby last week,everything was fine then they nurse came round an hour after the birth to tell her that her baby has Downs Syndrome.She never had a clue.

That's so sad Fizz, hope mother and baby are doing well though.I've noticed everyone is pregnant too, must be a nightmare in the heat mind you!!!

think she's still in shock.She said that she turned down an amnio test as all the others had been fine and it never occured to her that this one would be any different.She says that she feels in mourning for what should have been.(no disrespect to anybody at all with a Downs Syndrome child)

Morning pickfizz and I'm sure you mate will be fine. Although it may have been a shock to her, Downs children are the most loving children and will bring her alot of happiness. x

hiya 4getmenot.Yes the baby is beautiful - just think it will take time to adjust to things being different a bit. Do you know that her parents wont even visit her?

I can understand her being in shock ~ I know a couple of women with Downs children and it was hard for them in the beginning.

I do hope she soon begins to cope..Downs children are usually very loving, adorable kids ~ my daughters best friend Claire is Downs and is teaching my daughter Makaton..whilst my daughter is helping her learn to speak :o)

I�m waiting for 3 of my mates to pop. Last year 10 of my mates had babies and only 1 girl. This year they are all boys again. I�m not supposed to know one of the sexes but the mum let it slip, but I pretended not to hear so she can still surprise me. :-) and just read your last post, that is so sad, they are the granparents and should love their grandchild no matter what.

How can her parents not visit, that is so sad. Downs children are so loving. Lots of love and kisses to her and her baby.
