It is the Autumn Equinox tomorrow (I think) so bye bye summer. How does it affect you ? Summer gone, darker nights and Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas looming. Are you S.A.D. or happy at the prospect ?

Well done Pink !
It's currently 4-2 to the autumn/winter lovers. I'm going to make that 5-2. Never been a sunchaser, never particularly liked hot weather, but always love a cold crisp day and wrapping up warm. I just find it more comfortable. I kind of understand people not liking it being dark when they get up for work but then I become all uncharitable and reckon they just THINK they think it's depressing and should just SNAP OUT OF IT! Heh heh heh. Or else, move to a country where the climate suits them more. Having said that, winters have been milder here in recent years, haven't they?

I get irritated with weather men & women on TV who, during the winter months, say "good news, tomorrow will be quite mild" or "bad news, it's going to be icy this week" - ah, shut up, you've got it all wrong! It's SUPPOSED to be icy!

And I do like xm*s. Especially as in my job we just get given loads of time off - the last Friday before plus half the thursday, and all the working days before new year - we don't have to take any of them as leave - nice!

Ideal winter days - during the holiday, with nothing to do on a freezing cold, bright clear sunny day. Or nothng to do etc, but on a cold dark wet or snowy day and you know you can just stay in, laze around and not have to go anywhere!

Wow! ☼

Ahem....... I mean, I knew how to do that anyway and wasn't eavesdropping ☺
I love Autumn and Winter, my Birthday is November and I love the blusteryness

The only think I don't like is leaving the house for work whe it is dark, then coming home when it is dark, but that dopes give a great excuse to go to bed early and snuggle. Or get a blanket to cosy under on the sofa.....

Also love love love Christmas and started my shopping 2 weeks ago. i would put the tree up in October if I could.
natalie - were you listening?? lol
Back to the question:

Summer - a suntans disguises all the wobbly bits.

Winter - jeans and jumpers disguise all the wobbly bits!!

So.....I love all year round!
Sorry Gopher, you got yours in meanwhile so it's now 6-2.

For some balance - some negative things about autumn/winter: I seem to be allergic to leaf mould and with all the falling leaves I do sometimes get a hayfever type reaction during autumn. But not consistently every year.

Being a bit ungainly I do have a tendency to slip about on icy pavements etc (and even horribly dislocated an elbow one winter after slipping on ice) though on the plus side I suppose it might be entertaining for others to watch.

Having to listen to the whinging of cold-haters, melodramatically hugging themselves and going "Oh - my - god!" all the time.
Ok, another negative - when a car drives past too fast through a puddle the size of a lake and totally drenches you on your way to work. And wet jeans.

LMFAO

And some waders and wellies?

I'm sure China Doll mentioned winter fashion earlier, now I know what she means ;-)
i hate the winter months, especially when it is dark outside at 4 p m ,everyone is miserable and dressed in dull dark clothing. can hardly walk because of all the layers we need to keep out the cold,am i SAD you bet i am.
