hi,

i am having a lot of trouble putting on weight. I am a 26yr old male, 6'2" and weigh 11.5stones. I dont exercise and can away with eating whatever i like and in whatever quantities. I would really like to put on weight. Any ideas?

I would suggest you are just patient. By the time you are 36, your problem will be how to avoid putting on weight, even though you're eating nothing.
My brother had that problem he started doing weights, now he has a big massive a** it is mostly muscle but he doesnt look skinny now, he also has a dinner here, 1 at my nans n another at his house most days.
You could go and see your GP. They should be able to help. Or you could take my Mum's advice and go and have a good bowl of porridge!x
Catso, I couldn't have put it better myself!! However, that does not address gbuss' immediate need!!!!!!
I remember a skinny bloke at work (I work in a leisure club - the guy in question was not a gym instructor) conferred with one of the instructors as to this same problem. The solution was to drink those whey protein drinks between meals, adding a selection of bananas and other fruits and blending it all together. It worked, he gained about half a stone, however, it was a difficult regime to keep up and the moment he stopped, the weight dropped off!! Sorry!
I used to have that problem till I waas 22 or so. Go to gym and do weights....not necessarily bodybuilding. Once you hit mid 20s your metabolic rate falls so easier to put weight on.

Once I started to go to gym the weight went on. Now I wish my metabolic rate was higher so I could still eat and drink anything without putting weight on.
You not going to get a lot of help! In a world of obesity there are many who would give their eye teeth to have your "Problem".
Just hang in there - age wiil do it for you in a few years...
I really dont understand why you need to ask how to gain weight. Its very simple: eat foods high in fat and move as little as possible. Take protein shakes. What else can anyone possibly recommend?
Hey ffs, the eating foods high in fat though - surely whatever weight you are you have to watch your heart.

Gbuss - I would say perhaps you should see your dr as there are many reasons as to why you can not put on weight (like there are many reasons why people do put it on). Just to rule out any medical condition :-)

Its your body build, you can't do much to change it completely. But you could build up your muscles by doing weights and going to gym regularly so you at least look healthy and not just skinny.
