Leg ache...

Anyone ever had a DVT? Ache started in bed last night, and has been present all day though I'm not showing any of the classic tenderness, inflammation or swelling. Know enough anatomy to know there are deep veins in said area...

I had ad keg ache in the calf for a few days before hand. i too did not have any swelling or redness. I made a packed lunch, took a book and took myself off to casualty where they gave me a venogram and did blood tests. All the time the doctors were saying it wasnt classic dvt so they didnt think i had one. However, i had an ultrasound of my leg the next day and i did have one behind my knee.
Do yu have any of th risk factors?

Another sytom is if your leg feels HOT to the touch - eg hotter than the same place on the other leg!
Have you had a fall/knocked it etc?
My dad had a DVT in his calf a few years ago after a fall at work and ended up in hospital for over a week as it started to travel towards his lungs - he was fine after a course of Warfrin (used to thin the blood) -
I don't want to scare anyone but it is very important that DVT are caught early as there is a small risk that they can move towards the heart, lungs or brain with possibly fatal results!
