I am 38 years old female and I am am becoming so totally disillusioned with the UK, where I live (Southampton). All I seem to read about are murders etc, immigrants etc - it seems as if the country has gone mad. You now have to be so PC, for fear of reprisal, that no-one can say what they truly think anymore. It has got to a stage, that if I had the funds, I would seriously consider leaving the UK, which is a shame because deep down I think it is still a great country, but I can only see it declining rapidly. I don't mean to open a can of worms, maybe it is just me getting more aware as I get older, but I would love to hear others feelings about this.

Not my fault Ward_Minter. If it was up to me they would be in special prisons away from the public. Its not a childs fault either if an adult decides that they want to abuse them. The only rights these people deserve are the right to a jury and hearing. I agree the death penalty should stay abolished but there human rights should be taken away the minute they take someone elses away. You can blame the government as much as you like, but the real reason all these people are committing these crimes is because of do-gooders like you...

Yes, if I left this country it would make me an immigrant but whatever country I choose to move to, I would at least respect their country and their beliefs. I would learn the langauge, follow their culture and fit in with them every which way I could, not fluant my own nationality in front of them.

Hello wardy, nice to have you back, you were beginning to sound like me then for a minute lol.
I don't think Britain is a bad country or drastically going downhill, if I did i would not be here, however I do think that the amount of spin put on things by biased media coverage is beyond belief, maiing it appear that the end is neigh, when actually nothing is very diferent at all.
We need better educaiton, better social structuring, a total overhaul of what our kids are taught and the manner they are taught it in. Prisons need to be for serious offenders only ( murder, rape, peaodophilia etc) and petty crooks need a very structured community sentence which takes up all day everyday, split between education and new life skills and actually repairing their own cummunities.
Immigration is not a problem, economically it's necessary or within a generatrion our NHS and social structure will break down irretrievably due to sheer lack of numbers of younger people.
This is a great country, don't let anyone kid you it's not.
