Is it just me?
76 Answers
I am 38 years old female and I am am becoming so totally disillusioned with the UK, where I live (Southampton). All I seem to read about are murders etc, immigrants etc - it seems as if the country has gone mad. You now have to be so PC, for fear of reprisal, that no-one can say what they truly think anymore. It has got to a stage, that if I had the funds, I would seriously consider leaving the UK, which is a shame because deep down I think it is still a great country, but I can only see it declining rapidly. I don't mean to open a can of worms, maybe it is just me getting more aware as I get older, but I would love to hear others feelings about this.

The majority of which do 'learn the language' (ah yes, like so many UK ex-pats do in Turkey, Spain, wherever else they chose to go, etc) and what on earth do you mean by 'flaunt my own nationality in front of them'?!! Please explain that one without using your Daily Mail cliches. Your ignorance and generalisation is actually pretty amusing. You could move to a really small town and set up some kind of gossip shop - then you could amuse yourself all day with narrowminded second-hand opines.

I wasn't just reffering to immigrants, my intital posting was about the general state of the UK, this happens to include immigration amongst other things...murder, crime etc. I have just been getting really fed up with all the horror stories I keep reading and what I see every day...lack of respect form kids, litter on the streets etc. I have never stopped to think about it before but as I get older these things are getting my back up.

I was in my doctors the other day, when a lady from an Eastern European country came in with her baby, she wanted to see a doctor, couldn't speak a word of English and hadn't even registered the baby. When she was told no, she kicked up until they managed to get a doctor to see her. If I need an appointment I have to wait at least 2 weeks!!
Pitstopbunny, I realise that, I was just trying to find out why you mention immigrants and the fact that you'd consider emigrating in the same breath, and yet for you it's ok to leave the UK, yet it's not ok for others to come to the UK - especially after the British history of taking over other peoples countries and lives.
With regard to litter, it's a bit pathetic that in this day and age it's not dealt with, and that people aren't prepared to look after the mess they make.

I have not said that I am emigrating, I just said that the state of the Uk sometimes makes me feel like doing that. If I did choose to go, it certainly would not be to a commercial country, as they all have the same problems as the UK.
Did anyone see Spooks a few weeks back, when the country started to rebel, that is what I can see happening further down the line, when everyone finally stands up and says 'no-more'
