Do animals have souls then? And if so, does this mean that heaven is full of animals as well as humans? Does heaven even exist? If not, what happens to our souls after we die? And if so, what does our soul look like? And if our spirit lives on after our death does it go to heaven with our soul or does it loom about on Earth like a stagnant vapour?
I wasn't disagreeing that the bible talks of soul/spirit.i said i'd check to see if it (the book itself,in paper form, binded in leather)had an actuall soul, and as its not living i didn't seem to find one.
i was being a very silly girl ,
I thought so, Oz. I thought that if you had spirit then it meant you were lively, effervescent and full of beans.
Is this the same spirit that lives on after you die? And is it in the rhetorical sense? i.e. people getting together and raising a glass to your memory?
Bring us back some sweets from the shops please, Theland. Ta love.
What I don't understand about this animal -lifeforce human-soul stuff is if I could meet a neanderthal How could I tell if he had a soul or a lifeforce.
The Bible is quiet about a lot of things.... and too damned noisy about others.
I don't think we have a soul in the biblical sense, I think we have a personality that may or may not live on after our mortal bodies give it up.
