My uncles family had "Time to say goodbye" (Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman) as a recessional. It was absolutely wonderful and my late uncle's favourite. Personally I would prefer to have only hymns sung

Awww my friend had Wind beneath my Wings at her funeral and I'd been able to hold myself together pretty much until that came on and it completely did for me and I was sobbing.

It was very fitting for her as she was an amazing person, never let us know just how ill she was and it was a huge shock to us when she died very suddenly from cancer.
jenna, i cant listen to it without a little tear being shed. I love the film beaches and this song sums up true friendship and love for me. How sad that you had to say goodbye to a friend who was obviously a lovely person.x
I attended the funeral of someone I didn't know too well, but knew they'd been very ill for a long time.

'Bridge Over Trouble Water' Simon & Garfunkel was played, and I was in bits. Just couldn't stop crying.
In My Time of Dying - Led Zeppelin
The End - The Doors
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
I have three songs to be played at my funeral, if anyone turns up, they are all by Lonnie Donegan.

1--------The Parties Over.
2 ------- So Long, it been good to Know you.
3-------- Lonnies Skiffle Party.
Reach for the sky and hold your head up high,
For tonight and everynight, you're a superstar.
And don't you be afraid,
Think of all the friends you've made,
Like any other night you've got your name in lights,
You're a superstar.

In a world that gives everything,
Don't you know that it don't mean a thing at all, at all for a superstar.
You gotta find a raindow,
Tell the world what everyone else knows,
Don't let them tell you again about life,
Cause you know You're a superstar.

Everything you are today, Is what you want to be.
So don't be someone else when you be the best so easily.
If you try, and believe, my baby you'll succeed,
And your eyes will make you see,
You're a superstar.

and so on...
Zorro you are right,

garth brooks - The dance.

my daughter lost a friend just after Christmas and the funeral was just before new year, she was only 29, she had everything to live for they played bagpipes at her funeral and her 4 sisters and 2 cousins, all young women in their 20s, carried her coffin into the church, that is a site that will stay with alot of people for ever.
Time of your life - Greenday.
Everlong - Foo Fighters
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica.x
Ooooh just read country_boy's. I want Stairway to Heaven too!x
