Ever had something said about you that mortified you??
92 Answers
I went outside this evening to get my son in for a bath( he was outside playing with a small group of boys that he met last night). As I went up to them and called his name I heard one of them ask my son who I was. When he told them I was his mum one boy said at the top of his voice " God,isn't your mum fat." and then all the others started laughing and looked at me. I stood there completely stunned that:
A. He even thought that
B. A child could be so blatantly rude to an adult
And to make me feel even worse, I have been on a diet and intense exercise regime for a month, have lost 10lb and was feeling a bit more confident about myself but now I feel blooming awful.
Anybody else ever been gob-smacked by a comment??

Hi, honey!
God, the little sh!t! I hope you gave him a sly kick in the shin on your way past. How rude!
Everyone of my nan's comments mortifies me. Yes, the nan you know, LOL! I offered her my seat on the sofa last weekend and she said to me, "Just budge up a bit...", so I did. She sat down, looked me up and down, then said, "Christ girl, you've always had huge thighs, haven't you?".
I often leave her house with my tongue sore from biting it!
Don't let that bad mannered, little git get to you, though, hun. You've done brilliantly losing 10lb, go you! x x x

Kids speak out of innocence and are usually brutally honesty.
Don't feel bad, why would you feel bad that someone said the truth about you? You, yourself thinks you are fat and could loose a few pounds hence the reason you are dieting.
Don't let the truth make you break you diet, you want to show this kid that you can also be thinner.

Cheeky little toerag to be so disrespectful to an adult. I was gobsmacked yesterday when I passed a few of my neighbours' teenage boys. One of the lads said hello to me and quick as a flash , his friend said "Do you fancy her because you always say hello to her". He replied that it was because i'm his neighbour and I have always been friendly towards him and his family and at that , another of his friends piped up "Yes because she must be like what ? 47 ?" I was gutted because i'm only 31 and usually get taken for younger ! Pass the botox please :-(
I bet you look great Pink, don't let it upset you too much kids can be so 'orrible sometimes :o(
I know exactly how you feel, about 5 months after my daughter was born I over heard someone saying how fat I was and that it was ages since I had had my baby but was still so fat (it wasn't said in a concerned way either and what made it worse was they were laughing).
It really upset me I was never the same with them again, they probably don't realise why
Their opinion means diddly squat anyway Pink, Well done on the weight loss and exercising, keep it up :o)

BTW PinkFizz,
Well done on losing 10 lbs, you really should be proud of yourself! The fact that you have lost all that in a month implies to me that you 'aint finished yet!
Use those little gob sh1tes cruel words when getting aggressive in the gym.............you'll show them who's fat!!!
If it's any consolation my daughter's friends thought I was plump and 'old'........ until they hit 15/16.......
I was then described as a MILF
I still smile at their blushing faces when they used to call round the house....... hormonal little devils!
When I was a teenager, I thought people in their thirties were 'middle-aged'.... and when asked to clarify, I confidently answered 'Well at 60 you are old! Therefore, at thirty you are half way there.... hence 'middle' aged'.
Kids are just CRUEL!

I was at my reception desk at work the other day and our cleaner was chatting to me. She is lovely and ever so funny and we were chatting about clothes and I was telling her I went into New Look on lunch and bought loads of stuff. She said she can't stop there as they don't do her size. She is about a 24-26... (I don't think she knows they do the Inspire range for larger ladies)... and she asked me what size I was and I told her I was a 14 and she said 'Oh I'm not being rude my dear but I would have thought you were much bigger than that'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so shocked.... I laughed but only coz I didn't know what else to do! I have been sort of dieting and going to the gym so I know how you feel Pinkfizz! I had to go and chat to the finance girls and they all confirmed I looked like a normal 14! Lol...... how very dare she!
