the 50s and 60s music, if you listen to the searchers, early beatles, everly brothers etc there was a distinct lack of studio effects. it was pretty raw music but you could hear the talent behind the playing, almost amateur. All I hear today is the same music but with so many effects that the beat is musically perfect to the second and machines don't have talent, so none shines through. Some modern singers get it right sometimes, such as "cry me a river"by that three legged bloke. even some of that crap music where the singer talks his way through a song can be entertaining, but I just like music so I am easily swayed.
but can anybody beat the excitement of the 50s rock? thats where it all started, and the same chord sequences have been used for half a century. will any modern music last as long.
